The Research Team at Tabassum Foundation supports our mission through evidence-based work.
We conduct field research, assess program impact, and generate insights to improve education,
healthcare, and social development in rural Bangladesh. Our long term vision is to conduct
clinical research based on local and global regulation for the study.
Our main focus to-
- Identify pressing social and health challenges
- Evaluate the effectiveness of our interventions (e.g., free clinics, adolescent health
programs, educational outreach) - Inform future strategies through data-driven insights

Nusrat Subhan, PhD
Associate Professor, North South University, Bangladesh
Dr. Nusrat Subhan completed her Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons.) in 2006 from Khulna University and secured
First Class First position. She also completed M.Pharm from University of Asia Pacific, Dhaka, Bangladeh. She
was also awarded a three years Faculty of Sciences (COMPACT) Scholarship for pursueing PhD studies in
Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga, NSW, Australia. During her PhD studies, she expertised in the field
of HPLC, LC- triple-quadrupole mass analyser and LC-QTOF analysis of unknown compounds present in
medicinal plants. Currently she is working as Associate Professor at North South University, Dhaka,
Bangladesh. Nusrat Subhan published more than 20 research articles in international peer reviewed journals.
Mohammad Shohel, PhD
Canada
Dr. Mohammad Shohel is a clinical research professional in Canada with PhD in clinical pharmacy from
Australia. He is a registered pharmacist in Bangladesh. After his M.Sc in clinical pharmacy from England he
pursued his career as an academic in Bangladesh. Currently he is working as site activation partner, Parexel
International., Canada.

Md Nazmul Hasan, PhD
Bangladesh
Dr. Md. Nazmul Hasan is a Professor in the Department of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology at Jashore
University of Science and Technology (JUST), where he has been since 2010. From 2004 to 2010, he has
served as a teacher and researcher in the Dept. of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering in the University of
Development Alternative (UODA), Dhaka Bangladesh. He has obtained his BSc and MS degrees in
Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering in 2002 and 2012 respectively from the Khulna University,
Bangladesh. He received his Ph.D. in Agriculture from Kyushu University, Japan in 2016. He has also
completed a Post-graduation course in Sustainable International Agriculture at the George August University of
Gottingen from Germany.
His research interests span both in Pharmaceutical biotechnology, including traditional medicine, searching of
new lead compounds in the field of drug design and discovery, Searching of anti-cancer agents and
bioinformatics. He has already published almost 74 articles including conference proceedings in the National
and International conferences.
Nishat Zareen Khair, PhD

Dr. Nishat Zareen Khair has started her academic career as a lecturer in the department of Pharmacy, BRAC
University, in June 2012. She is currently working as an Assistant Professor at BRAC University School of
Pharmacy. Dr. Nishat has completed her Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry from the School of Clinical and Health
Sciences, University of South Australia, for which she has received the prestigious University Presidential
Scholarship in 2017. Soon after completion of her Ph.D., she has received the APR internship award to conduct
research at Aucentra Therapeutics Pty. Ltd., which was fully funded by the Australian Government. She is also
an MRACI (Member of the Royal Australian Chemical Society) and a member of the American Chemical
Society.
Dr. Nishat has completed her MSc. in Drug Discovery, from the University College London (UCL), School of
Pharmacy, London, UK in 2011 and worked as a research assistant in a protein company called Generon Pvt
Ltd, UK, where she worked for the development of an immunoaffinity spin column for the purification of
proteins. Prior to that she has completed Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honors) from the University of Asia Pacific.
She has consistently been active in her research and presented her work in the UniSA PMB symposium and the
RACI Synthesis Symposium; she also attended the Society of Medicine Research, (smr) meeting in London,
UK. She has authored multiple scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals including the ACS Medicinal
Chemistry letters and Future Medicinal Chemistry etc. As an academician, her main objective is to give back to
her community by contributing to the development in the field of Health Sciences research and education for
the betterment of mankind, and to have a permanent mark in the field of Medical Sciences and Drug Discovery.
